Fall Volunteer Lawyer Events: Be a Voice in Court for Victims & Children

We invite all lawyers to our Fall 2017 training events to learn about representing domestic violence victims and at-risk children. We provide all the resources you need to be a voice in court for victims and children, including free trainings; in-court supervision and mentoring; malpractice insurance; and more.

DC Bar membership is not required.

Fighting for Victims: Litigating Protection Order Cases Training
9/28/17, 10am-3pm

Help domestic violence victims obtain “stay-away” orders against their abusers, and gain supervised in-court litigation experience in a short time  — on average, just 8-12 days per case.

Providing a Voice for Children: Guardian Ad Litem Training
10/5/17, 9:30am-2:30pm

Become a court-appointed guardian ad litem and advocate for the best interests of children who are in danger from abuse, domestic violence, parental drug abuse or other difficult circumstances.

Keeping Victims Safe: Litigating Family Law Cases Training
10/17/17, 10am-2:30pm

Help domestic violence victims find long-term safety and stability, while gaining experience with a full range of litigation skills, including trial advocacy, discovery, and negotiation.
