Domestic Violence Resource Clinic Training
The DC Volunteer Lawyer Project operates a weekly walk-in Domestic Violence Resource Clinic with with the District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH) and My Sister’s Place. At the Clinic, DCVLP attorneys provide legal advice to clients in need of assistance with civil protection orders, custody, divorce/legal separation, child support and immigration issues in DC. Clinic clients may also meet with DASH for housing advice and with an advocate for a needs assessment, safety planning, counseling, and referrals. Additional services available at clinic include substance abuse counseling and Medicaid registration.
